Josh Ceramics LLC ("Josh Ceramics," "we," "us") is a ceramics studio in Davis, California. We sell ceramics through joshceramics.com, Etsy, and in person, and we teach classes and workshops. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

What we collect

Orders and bookings. When you buy something or book a class, we collect your name, email, phone number, shipping and billing address, and the details of your order or booking. Payments are handled by our payment processors; we do not see or store your full card number.

Classes and workshops. For class participants we collect the participant's name and age group, and a parent or guardian's contact information for anyone under 18.

Messages and newsletters. If you contact us or sign up for updates, we keep your name, email, and the message you sent.

Website usage. Our site runs on Squarespace, which uses cookies and collects standard analytics such as pages visited, browser type, and approximate location. See Squarespace's cookie settings on our site to adjust these.

How we use it

• To fulfill orders, run classes, and respond to you
• To send updates you have asked for (you can unsubscribe at any time)
• To keep business, bookkeeping, and tax records
• To prevent fraud and keep our site and accounts secure

We do not sell your personal information.

Who we share it with

We share information only with the service providers we need to run the business, and only for that purpose:

• Squarespace – website hosting, online store, and class scheduling
• Etsy – if you buy from our Etsy shop, Etsy's own privacy policy applies to that purchase
• Payment processors and shipping carriers – to take payment and deliver orders
• Email and messaging providers – to send order confirmations and updates
• Plaid – see "Financial account connections" below

We may also disclose information when required by law.

Financial account connections (Plaid)

Our internal bookkeeping tools connect to our own business bank and payment accounts through Plaid Inc. to retrieve our transaction records. These tools are used only by the business owner, for our own accounts. We do not ask customers to link financial accounts.

Anyone who connects a financial account through our tools grants Plaid the right to access and transmit that account's information on their behalf, and agrees that this information may be transferred, stored, and processed by Plaid under the Plaid End User Privacy Policy.

How long we keep it

We keep order, booking, and payment records for as long as needed for bookkeeping and tax purposes. Marketing contact details are kept until you unsubscribe. Other information is kept only as long as needed for the purpose it was collected.

Security

Data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and stored with established providers that encrypt data at rest. Our internal tools are restricted to the business owner behind single sign-on with multi-factor authentication. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, but we work to protect your information.

Children

Many of our classes are for kids. We collect information about child participants only from a parent or guardian. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13 through our website.

Your choices

You can ask us to show you, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you by emailing josh@joshceramics.com. You can unsubscribe from updates using the link in any email. California residents may have additional rights under California law; contact us to exercise them.

Changes

If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page.
